Question from a custodial dad… “do I have to close my state CSE case before hiring your private child support collection agency”?
Single dad’s question…
hi… I live in the State of Missouri and the government child support enforcement agency here is attempting to collect from my ex-wife, a deadbeat mom. Would I need to give up that option in order to hire your services? (i.e. close my state in order for me to utilize your services?
Our answer:
Hi John
Thank you for the question and your consideration of using Support Collectors to help collect your support. We love helping parents and especially dads! : ) We would not require that you close the case with the county. Hopefully we can provide the missing piece to your case and find a way to collect. Please keep in mind that we can only work the case if there is a lapse in support for over 90 days from the last payment. If you are getting sporadic child support payments, it may be best to discuss the case and see if we can assist. Prosecution of the file is the responsibility of the county; we would look for the NCP and try to find income or assets to collect from. So, to answer your question, more often than not, we would be able to work in conjunction with the county CSE office.
